A community food assessment is about bringing together people and organizations to look at a broad range of food-related resources and concerns in order to give direction to actions that will improve food security in the community.
Many communities across the country have done community food assessments. The La Ronge Community Food Assessment is an initiative of Food Secure Saskatchewan, part of an interprovincial project with Food Matters Manitoba called Our Food, Our Health, Our Culture. The La Ronge Food Assets Resource List accompanies the assessment and provides a list of local food resources.
